Credits & Billing
Splice uses a credit system instead of subscriptions. You buy credits when you need them and each AI generation costs a set number of credits.
Buying Credits
Go to Dashboard > Credits to purchase a package:

Payment Methods
- Card — Visa, Mastercard via Stripe
- Crypto — Solana (SOL) or USDC
How Credits Are Spent
Each generation costs credits based on:
- The tool used (video costs more than image)
- The model selected (higher quality = more credits)
- The duration (for video and audio)
The credit cost is always shown before you confirm a generation.
Production Balances
Credits can be allocated to individual productions:
- Each production can have its own credit balance
- Transfer credits between productions as needed
- Track spending per production
Checking Your Balance
- The credit balance is shown in the top bar of your dashboard
- Go to Credits for detailed transaction history
- Via the Agent API:
GET /api/agents/balance
Tips for Saving Credits
- Write detailed prompts — better prompts = fewer retries
- Use the Prompt Wand — AI-enhanced prompts get better results
- Start with lower-cost models to experiment, then use premium models for final output
- Plan with moodboards before generating — saves trial-and-error costs
